The dark-sunshine-pop duo Double Wish have revealed their new track, ‘Soft Skin’. It’s a dreamy track that leans into what the band have described as ‘pop-gaze’, with the warm melancholy of a Juno synth sitting beneath a drum-machine-esque pattern. Its airy shimmer is twisted towards the end as a fuzzy, spacey guitar riff enters to provide a moment of musical clarity. “For some reason, it just... sat there, like a thought left unfinished,” they explain. “When we finally returned to it, we were drawn to this phrase, “pop-gaze” and the song started to come to life in a new way. There’s definitely a bit of The Cure woven through it.” The band are gearing up to drop their new EP, Deeper Ecstacy, on February 28th, 2025 via Hit The North Records. -Dan Peeke
